Chicmisfit

{May 9, 2008}   Why would you do this?

It’s hard enough finding your own ’style’ during those awkward puberty and teenage years; trying to figure out what suits you, and what does not.

So why would you give your child a helping hand on to the road of misfit-dom by putting them in these clothes from Beyonce and Mama Knowles’ label - Dereon - House OF Dereon’s younger girls line?

You would think that if you had any pearls of wisdom with regards to fashion and style, you could pass them on to your child to make their tween / teen years less traumatising.

The only reason you would buy any of these clothes from would be:

a) You hate your kid.

b) You want your kid to end up a hip-hop honey or dancing on the pole.

c) You hate your kid.

What’s wrong with good ol’ Gap eh?

{March 5, 2008}   Gocco-ing Mad

The severe lack of posting has been due to the fact that I am obsessed with my Gocco PG-11 printer.

Shopping for clothes has now been replaced by wanting and craving Gocco accessories and ink. I want it all!

Anyhoo… just to show you I haven’t been sitting on my laurels here is my handy work.

As you can see, I only did one design - a fountain pen - as my tester. As it turned out quite well (I think), my mind is now brimming with ideas.

Have a look at all the other Gocco-ers out there and their wonderful creations.

I’m off to Gocco some more.

{January 7, 2008}   What’s it all about?

Another fashion blog? Well, yes and no.

I like, no love fashion, clothes and shopping after all I am a girl. The problem is fashion doesn’t like me so much.

In terms of size I am a size 16(uk) and according to stats - this is the average size for a woman in the UK.

So why is it so hard to find clothes that fit? It could be that I am also short. Am I only the only one who has this problem? I doubt it.

So why is it whenever I go into a store to buy something, it never fits quite right. The highstreet has got me thinking that I must be an odd shape. Oh oh.

It would seem my arms are too big, my thighs too chunky, my legs too short and my hips too wide. Maybe I should get a sack, cut out a hole for my large head (because no hats fit either) and try and cinch in my non-existant waist with a bit of rope and hope for the best.

I say NO to the sack!

I will be more chic, less of a fashion misfit, and will find clothes that do fit.

Join me on my high street jaunts, tales of my shopping woes and joys - or as much joy as my wallet will allow - as well as other miscellaneous ramblings.
